Jogger injured when car runs curb
A man jogging on Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista was hit and injured when a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck him. The 35 year old man was hospitalized with head and facial injuries, and possible broken bones. The accident took place on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. The victim was apparently running on the sidewalk when the vehicle veered off Telegraph Canyon road and hit him. The police do not suspect that alcohol was involved, and are investigating the cause of the crash.
Any runner/jogger/cyclist will tell you that this is their nightmare scenario. The injured victim was on the sidewalk, and apparently did not even see the car coming. The accident occurred at 8:00 in the morning. Was the driver distracted (Ipod? cell phone? texting?) No further information was released by the Chula Vista police department. The driver, however, was not arrested.
