Hit and Run Crash Leaves Bicyclist in Critical Condition

A North County bicyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a hit and run driver on Saturday morning.  The unidentified man was riding his bike south on Twin Oaks Valley Road south of Del Roy drive when he was hit by a vehicle.  The impact threw the rider from his bike.  The crash occurred about 10:30 a.m.  The vehicle driver did not stop.  Unfortunately, it appears that there aren't any witnesses to the accident.  No information is available about the vehicle who struck the bicyclist.  Anyone who has any information that can assist in this investigation should call the County Sheriff's department.

This accident represents the worst nightmare of a bicyclist.  In addition to wearing bright clothing, riding in a group is safer than riding alone, particularly on busy streets.
